Taylor: Portraits
A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon, in and out of the rain, with Taylor. This little girl makes me smile every moment I spend with her. Her personality is awesome. This time I dragged The Boy out with me. He took some fun pictures of me in action, my lovely assistant, and some outstanding pictures of Taylor. His pictures are to come. For now, you will have to deal with me! =) Carrie (Taylor's mom), thank you for being so patient. You have a beautiful little girl; inside and out. Enjoy!

Halloween Fun
Halloween was too much fun this year! We went over to a friends house for their annual Halloween party.
My costume was a joke this year. The original plan was to be a beer wench. When I tried on the costume, I just about came out of my skin it was so itchy! So, being the procrastinator that I am, I waited until the very last minute to get a costume. I picked up one of those cheap ER doctor costumes thinking that would last the night. Oh, how wrong I was. About a hour after we arrived, Alyssa let me know I had a little rip. At that point it wasn't too bad. It got progressively worse throughout the night. By the end of the night I was holding my pants together. It was quite embarrassing! Thank goodness it was Halloween and one can typically get away with it!

Apple Hill
All I wanted to do for my birthday this year was to go to Apple Hill. So, we braved the crowds a couple weeks ago and had a blast! We started our day having breakfast at Apple Cafe....yummy!

After that we started our Applelicious day at High Hill...checkin out the crafts and tasting Apple Beer. I thought it was going to be actually apple beer, only to find out it was a mix of Bud Light and Apple Cider. The first half was pretty good....after that we weren't so impressed.....

After we left High Hill, we bounced all over Apple Hill....mainly hitting the wineries and breweries. It was a very fun day!

Our Friday nights....
Every Friday night we, The Boy and I, go to Darin and Jill's for a night of good food, good friends, and TONS of pool. It isn't uncommon for us to still be up playing pool at 3 o'clock in the morning.
This last weekend Darin's mom and brother joined us. We had too much fun! Here are some images from the night!

Jill shooting behind the back....showoff! =) Nice Job!

Darin's brother Eric's turn.....

Momma Mary.....

Moi...so focused!

Darin tried endlessly to get in The Boy's game....to no avail.

We play many pool games, 8-ball, 9-ball, cut-throat, etc. We also play a game called bottle pool, and yes it is actually a game! Anyway, Darin and The Boy were trying to explain this game to Mary and Eric.....is was hysterical! Here is a picture, which doesn't do the story justice unfortunately!

By the end of the night, we were down to one cue stick (we started the night with 3).

State fair....a few weeks late!
Hey all! I have been a busy, busy girl lately! I have been putting in a lot of time getting my website up and going. I am going to try and catch up on some posts tonight!
I went to the state fair a couple of weeks ago with my mom and dad and The Boy. I really wated to get some classic/nostalgic shots of fair food, carnies, etc., but that didn't happen. My mom and dad wanted to get there early, which is good when you are checking out the livestock and agriculture stuff, but not so much when you want to get the shots I wanted. Oh well, there is always next year!
The theme for the California State Fair this year was "The California State Fair goes Hollywood". It was pretty cool. They had a bunch of makeshift sets and some actual props from movies like Air Force One, Star Wars, The Patriot, and Back to the Future. I wish I had brought a wider angle lens so I could have gotten the whole Delorean! But this will have to do. It was pretty cool. Remember the Flux Capacitor?

After we finished looking at all of the props we ahd to walk through a gift store and I had to snap some pics of the SMURFS! Man I used to love that cartoon. Matter of fact, I recently picked up Season 1 on DVD....Crazy!

Papa Smurf
Gargamel....aka Gargasmell....hehe!

Remember the book Where the Wild Things Are? I thought this Vase was absolutely amazing! I can't believe they only won 2nd place! It looked like a grand prize winner to me.

A couple weekends ago The Boy and I went to Clearlake with our friends Darin & Jill. It was such a nice relaxing weekend....I wish we were able to be there all week!
I am late posting the pics, but better late than never!

A scattered post.....
Well, I think I am almost healed......Almost all of my bumps and bruises are gone and I am not nearly as sore as I was a week ago. Thank goodness!
Last weekend, The Boy and I went to Clearlake with a couple of friends. It was so nice to relax for a couple of days and not have to think about anything except if I wanted read by the pool or on the boat while the boys are fishing. It was a much needed rest and relaxation! Thank you Darin and Jill! (I'll post some pics soon....)
Since I was gone last weekend I have been spending the past few nights finishing up on Deidre & Eric's Wedding and Sarah's Senior Portraits (hang in there guys I'll post some soon.).
While I was working last night I watched P.S. I Love You. It originally started out as a book by Cecelia Ahern. This book is probably one of my favorite books. It makes you laugh on one page and cry on the next. When I heard they were gong to make it a movie I was super excited. But then I heard that the movie was completely different than the book. I was bummed to hear that I have to say....but I watched the movie last night while editing and I loved it! It is completely different from the book, yet it had a few things similar. If you are looking for a tear-jerker chick flick I totally recommend it!
Ok, I'm off.....gotta finish editting so I can post some stuff for y'all!

OMG!!!!
Oh my goodness!!!! The Boy just hooked up my monitor.....I am in awe! Going from a 15" laptop monitor to a 22" HDMI monitor is awesome! When I get my new workstation it is going kick ass!
Man, The Boy knows his stuff!

Weddings & Rodeo Queens
I finally finished editing Jason and Whitney's wedding images. I cannot wait to give it to them! This couple was super cute! I will post some pictures a little later this week....Last night I went on a super fun shoot with a rodeo queen. This girl is so photogenic it is almost ridiculous! We had such a good time. She had her entourage with her (mom, hairstylist/2nd mom, and her friend) and I brought The Boy with me to help out. We were quite the group walking around El Dorado. We found some of the coolest places to shoot!
He he...I snapped a pic of The Boy when he wasn't paying attention. Unfortunately, he got me back.....

So much editing to do, so little time! I have so many things I want to blog about and pictures to share.....I just need to get through to the end of the school year and I will play catch up! Keep checkin back!

Sooo busy....sooo excited!
Oh my goodness! I have been uber busy lately.....actually, I guess I am always pretty busy! =)
I have been busy working on a ton of pictures. I promise I will post some soon.
Also, I am ordering a new monitor tonight! I am so excited to get a new one....a bigger one at that! This is the first step in fixing my black screen of death problem I had last month. I thought I would just go out and pick up a monitor, oh how wrong I was. I had no idea how involved buying a new monitor was; contrast ratio, milliseconds, is it HDMI compatible......aah, too many things! None of which I knew until I started this process over a week ago. Thank goodness The Boy is super patient with me and explained everything....just one of the many things I love about him. =)
Ok, on to buying my monitor......more soon!

The Black Screen of Death....
....or at least I thought it was! I kinda freaked out yesterday when I tried to turn on my computer and all I got was a black screen. I could hear it running, but nothing was on the display. =(
Thankfully I was at The Boy's (aka my boyfriend) shop. He calmed me down and and figured out what was wrong. Apparently the backlight stopped working. I thought that was weird since not even two hours earlier I was using it at home. I guess these things just happen. It was probably a blessing in disguise since I out grew my computer a while ago.
I was going to upgrade sometime this year....well, that sometime just got a lot closer! I told The Boy tonight that I wanted him to start building me my dream workstation. I am super excited! It is going to be so dang fast...hehe.....
